Summary

CBRE Group, Inc. (CBRE) is an American commercial real estate services and investment firm. The abbreviation CBRE stands for Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis. It is the largest commercial real estate services company in the world and its stock is traded on the NYSE.

As disclosed in its March 1, 2010 10-K filing, CBRE determined that some of its employees in certain of its offices in China made payments to local governmental officials, which included payments in the form of gifts and payments for non-business related entertainment. These payments were discovered through an internal investigation, which had begun in the first quarter of 2010. CBRE believed that the payments may have been in violation of the FCPA, and consequently, CBRE voluntarily disclosed the investigation to both the DOJ and the SEC on February 27, 2010. CBRE hired outside counsel to continue the internal investigation and implemented “thorough remedial measures”.

CBRE disclosed in its March 1, 2011 10-K filing that it had finished its internal investigation and that both the SEC and DOJ had closed each review with no further action taken.
