Summary

Novartis AG was a global provider of pharmaceutical and healthcare products incorporated and headquartered in Switzerland. Novartis' securities were registered with the SEC and traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

In a 6-K filed on January 25, 2017, Novartis disclosed that it had begun investigating allegations of "potentially inappropriate economic benefits" to health care providers, government officials, and others in Greece. Information was being provided to Greek authorities, and the company was also responding to document requests from the DOJ and SEC.

On January 24, 2018, Novartis disclosed that the DOJ and/or the SEC had also subpoenaed the company for information connected to the Greek investigation.

Novartis said it cooperated in the US agencies' investigations.

On June 25, 2020, the DOJ and SEC filed enforcement actions against Novartis and two of its subsidiaries.
