Credit Suisse Group AG (Credit Suisse) was a multinational investment bank and financial services company based in Switzerland. Credit Suisse’s shares were registered with the SEC and traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

In its 6-k filed on February 14, 2018, Credit Suisse disclosed that it was responding to requests from governmental and regulatory authorities, including the SEC and DOJ, regarding the company’s hiring practices in the Asia Pacific region. Credit Suisse said it was cooperating with the authorities in their investigations. This investigation appears to be related to a broader investigation into the hiring practices of financial firms in Asia.

On May 24, 2018, Credit Suisse and its subsidiary Credit Suisse (Hong Kong) Limited entered into a non-prosecution agreement with the DOJ.

On July 5, 2018, the SEC issued a cease and desist order against Credit Suisse.
