Summary

Core Laboratories N.V. (Core) is an American service provider of core and fluid analysis in the petroleum industry. Headquartered in the Netherlands, its stock is traded on the NYSE.

According to its October 31, 2006 8-K filing, Core received a request from the SEC during the second quarter of 2005 to provide a sworn statement and certain information regarding Core’s participation in the United Nations Oil-for-Food Program. The SEC issued a formal order of investigation that named more than a dozen companies involved in the Oil-for-Food Program, including Core.

Core informed the SEC that the company did have a subsidiary that had contracts with the United Nations to monitor the quantity of oil sold by the Government of Iraq under the Oil-for-Food Program, but neither the company nor its subsidiaries purchased oil under the Oil-for-Food Program or sold any goods destined for Iraq under the Oil-for-Food Program.
