Summary

Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) was a technology company headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and was a global provider of personal computing devices, information technology infrastructure, and imaging and printing products and services. Incorporated in Delaware, its stock is traded on the NYSE.

According to its September 9, 2010 10-Q filing, HP was being investigated by the DOJ and the SEC, as well as the German Public Prosecutor’s Office, regarding allegations that current and former employees of HP from HP’s German Subsidiary engaged in bribery, embezzlement, tax evasion and potential violations of the FCPA from transactions with Russia. The investigations expanded to include other countries such as Poland and Mexico.

HP disclosed in its April 9, 2014 8-K filing that it reached settlements with both the SEC and DOJ, including fines and penalties, while agreeing to undertake certain compliance, reporting and cooperation obligations.
