Deutsche Bank AG (Deutsche Bank), a German financial services corporation, operated in more than 70 countries worldwide, and the company's securities were registered with the SEC and traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

In its 20-F filed on March 20, 2015, Deutsche Bank disclosed that “certain regulators” were investigating, among other things, Deutsche Bank’s compliance with the FCPA and other laws with respect to its hiring practices related to candidates referred by clients, potential clients and government officials. The company's March 20, 2017, annual report confirmed that the regulators were the SEC and DOJ.

On August 22, 2019, the SEC issued a cease and desist order against Deutsche Bank for violations of the books and records and internal controls provisions of the FCPA, and in its 20-F filed on March 20, 2020, Deutsche Bank disclosed that the DOJ had closed its investigation.
